I have decided for no other reason than just 'why not' to try to grow some giant pumpkins this year. This will probably be a challenge due to the weather in UK but why not give it a go.
I sowed some special seed bought from Russia via ebay on 2nd March and this is what I have one week later (a few of the others are just breaking through).
They have been in an electric propogator but still I am impressed at how this has grown.

First tentative steps back into the garden - 16th Feb
Yippee it was finally dry and mild enough to get out into the garden. Although still a bit to wet the grass got its first cut and boy does it make a difference.
Am going to try and take pictures every few weeks to watch the seasons unfold this year.

Friday 15th Feb - Micro-greens burst through...
What a joy to see the little seeds burst through the soil. First thing this morning they had just nudged the earth up and away and now they are standing tall.
Only a few more days and I should be able to eat them - what a joy!
